Malaria risk in Mexico is very low and confined to small rural areas in Chiapas, Chihuahua, Durango, and Nayarit states. There is no malaria risk in Cancún, Mexico City, the Riviera Maya, or any major tourist destinations. Anti-malarial tablets are not routinely recommended for tourist travel.
