Overview
Hepatitis A is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis A virus. It spreads when tiny traces of infected faeces enter the mouth — often through contaminated food, water, or poor hand hygiene. It is more common in parts of the world where sanitation is less reliable. The vaccine is inactivated (not live) and is suitable for most adults. Protection begins to build within about two weeks of a single dose. At Holborn Clinic we can fit your vaccination around your travel dates and advise on any other vaccines you may need for the same trip.
